Samantha McDonnell

Hello! My name is Samantha McDonnell, and I am the Family and Consumer Science teacher at Lackawanna Trail. This year I will be teaching classes in Interior Design, Food Science and Nutrition, and two levels of Consumer Science. Before becoming certified in Family and Consumer Science, I originally received my Bachelors Degree in Spanish Education from the University of Scranton, with a semester spent studying at the Universidad de Alicante in Spain. Prior to starting at Lackawanna Trail, I began and operated my own retail business, designing and sewing handmade purses and accessories. I look forward to working with all of the students and teaching them fundamentals they will need in their lives beyond school. My teaching philosophy revolves around creating an inclusive, engaging learning environment where students feel valued and inspired to explore. I plan to use my diverse background to enrich the curriculum in order to provide every student with the best opportunity to learn, grow, and become positive and successful members of the community.
