Chris Hooker

English Language Arts Department

Hello! My name is Chris Hooker and this year, I teach 8th, 9th and 11th grade English. This is my second year teaching at Trail, but I have been teaching for five years total, having spent some time at Montrose and in New York. My educational background consists of a bachelor’s degree in creative writing from Susquehanna University (2013) and a master’s degree in English Education from the University at Buffalo (2016). Prior to education, I spent some time working in journalism, covering regional and professional sports for newspapers in New York. In my classes, I believe in the importance of reading, writing, and discussion on a routine basis as well as the idea that any narrative work can be a text.
