Chris Gercken
6th Grade
Hello, my name is Chris Gercken, and I graduated from Shippensburg University with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Environmental Science. I have been with the Lackawanna Trail School District since then in a few different roles. I started off as a substitute at both the elementary and high school levels. I then spent time only at the high school, including a position as a tutorial teacher. In 2010, I was hired full time as a 3rd grade teacher and had a wonderful year teaching that level. At the end of the 2010-2011 school year, I was given the opportunity to move up to 6th grade. Currently, I teach both ELA and science classes. I very much enjoy teaching this age group and facing the challenges it brings forth. During my time at Trail, I earned a master’s degree in Educational Development and Strategies through Wilkes University.
