Beginning January 1, 2016, all volunteers at LTEC must have the following clearances on file in the main office:

This includes but is not limited to homeroom parents, Kid Writing volunteers, parents chaperoning field trips, and all PTO board members. Please click the link below for further information (click clearances on the left side of the page). If you need further clarification, an informational packet is available in the main office.

Once you have obtained the approved clearances, please drop them off at the main office.
The fee for these clearances will be waived for volunteers. Please visit the website above for more information.

Dear Parents/Guardians:

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying your summer. I have received many questions regarding the dress code and I wanted to provide you with information that will hopefully provide some answers. The dress code this year will be “relaxed.” Collared shirts will not be required. Hooded sweatshirts will be allowed. We do ask that jeans or pants with holes, rips, or tears in them be avoided. Clothing that is appropriate for physical education classes may be worn on days when students have PE.

These changes are part of a “pilot program” that our administration is working on.  If problems arise updates will be made.

If you would like more information on LTEC please check out our Student handbook at

Thank you!

Keystone Nature Trails

Mr. Jim Kotz, Gifted Coordinator, took some of our students along the Keystone Nature Trails to do some exploring!

The Lackawanna Trail Elementary Center collected socks as part of our Socktober Drive!  Theses socks will be donated to the NEPA Youth Shelter on Wyoming Avenue in Scranton.

Thank you to all who donated!
